Greg Pankewicz

A former NHL player and one of the original members of the Colorado Eagles, Greg Pankewicz was an assistant captain on the franchise's inaugural 2003-04 squad. After leading the team in scoring that season, and being named the CHL's Best Overall Player in a vote by his peers, Pankewicz assumed the Eagles' captaincy until his retirement in the summer of 2009 (ending an 18-year professional career).
During his six seasons as a player -- in which he earned a reputation for his blazing slap shot, timely goals and intensity -- "Panks" led the Eagles to two CHL championships (2005 & 2007), won the league's MVP Award (2004-05), the league's Playoff MVP Award (2007) and was a five-time All-Star (setting a league record for goals and points in career All-Star Games).
Upon his retirement, the CHL legend held several team records as well, including the following: highest points-per-game average (1.53), most goals as an Eagle (207), most game-winning goals (41), most power-play goals (68), most goals in a game (4, tied), most hat tricks (11), longest goal streak (eight games) and longest assist streak (10 games).
