Eagles Add Forward Evan Friesen on AHL Contract

WINDSOR, CO. – The Colorado Eagles, proud AHL affiliate of the Colorado Avalanche, have announced that the team has signed forward Evan Friesen to an AHL two-way contract for the 2026-27 season. The 22-year-old is fresh off a rookie campaign that saw him net 27 goals and 19 assists with the ECHL’s Utah Grizzlies. His 27 goals were good for second on the team and third among all ECHL rookies.
Prior to making the jump to the pro game, the 5-foot-11, 185-pound center spent four seasons in the WHL, posting 75 goals and 71 assists across 240 games with the Wenatchee Wild and Winnipeg Ice. Friesen closed out his major junior career by being named the Wild’s team captain during the 2024-25 season and registered new career highs in goals (32), assists (29) and points (61).
The Eagles will kick off the 2026-27 AHL regular season when they travel to take on the Tucson Roadrunners on Saturday, October 3rd. Colorado will make its home debut on Friday, October 9th against the Abbotsford Canucks at Blue Arena.
