Eagles Collect Point in 2-1 OT Loss at Milwaukee

Oct 19, 2026

MILWAUKEE, WI. – Milwaukee forward Joakim Kemell netted the game-winning goal 2:30 into overtime, as the Admirals scored two unanswered goals to defeat the Colorado Eagles, 2-1 on Saturday. Colorado picked up a point in the loss, giving the Eagles three of a possible four points in the two-game set in Milwaukee. Forward Tristen Nielsen struck for Colorado’s lone goal, as goaltender Nikita Novoselov suffered the overtime loss, making 20 saves on 22 shots.

The game’s first power play would see Nielsen stuff home a loose puck in the crease, giving Colorado a 1-0 lead just 2:59 into the contest.

Minutes later, Eagles defenseman Keaton Middleton would drop the gloves with Milwaukee forward Kyle Marino. As the fight ensued, a second fight between Colorado’s Jake Wise and the Admirals Oasiz Wiesblatt would break out, resulting in a game misconduct for both Wise and Wiesblatt.

The Eagles would go on to outshoot Milwaukee 14-5 in the opening frame, as they carried their 1-0 edge into the first intermission.

The second period would see Colorado fail to connect on three separate opportunities on the power play, but the penalty kill would step up to shut down all three of the Admirals chances on the man-advantage, allowing the Eagles to leave for the second intermission still on top, 1-0.

A power play early in the third period would see a puck rimmed behind the net, which Novoselov would divert to the bottom of the right-wing circle, where a waiting Brady Martin would slam it into the net to tie the game 1-1 at the :27 mark.

Heading into overtime, a 2-on-1 rush would spring Kemell down the ice to bury a wrister from the right-wing circle, giving Milwaukee the 2-1 victory.

Goaltender Matt Murray earned the win in net, stopping 26 of the 27 shots he faced. Colorado finished the night going 1-for-7 on the power play, while the Admirals went 1-for-6.

The Eagles will be back in action when they return home to take on the Bakersfield Condors on Friday, October 23rd at 7:05pm MT at Blue Arena. Tickets for all Colorado Eagles home games are on sale now and can be purchased at ColoradoEagles.com
