Oct 12, 2026
LOVELAND, CO. – Abbotsford netted the game-winning goal on the power play and finished 2-for-2 on the penalty kill, lifting the Canucks to a 4-3 win over the Colorado Eagles on Saturday. Forward Kole Lind led the way with two goals and an assist in the victory, while goalie Nikita Tolopilo earned his first win of the season in net, stopping 32 of the Eagles 35 shots.
Colorado would jump out early, as forward Jake Wise lit the lamp from the slot just 1:40 into the contest, putting the Eagles on top, 1-0.
Abbotsford would then generate an answer 2:28 later, as Lind buried a wrister from the right-wing circle, leveling the score at 1-1. The Canucks would go on to outshoot Colorado 11-8 in the opening frame, as the two teams headed to the first intermission still deadlocked at 1-1.
Abbotsford would grab its first lead of the night when Lind fired a wrist shot from the left-wing circle past goalie Ilya Nabokov, giving the Canucks a 1-0 edge at the 9:01 mark of the second period.
The Eagles would flip the script when defenseman Sean Behrens drove between the circles and smashed home a shot that would tie the game at 2-2 with 5:39 left to play in the middle frame.
Still tied at 2-2 to begin the third period, Abbotsford would jump back on top when forward Ty Mueller steered a pass in the low slot into the back of the net, giving the Canucks a 3-2 advantage at the 6:05 mark.
Colorado would again find an answer, as defenseman Alex Gagne tucked home a rebound at the side of the crease, evening the score at 3-3 with 9:21 left to play in the game.
A late power play would see Abbotsford regain the advantage, as forward Braeden Cootes pushed home a rebound to give the Canucks a 4-3 lead at the 14:50 mark.
Nabokov suffered the loss in net, allowing four goals on 27 shots.
