Eagles Kick Off Playoff Run Against Silver Knights

The Colorado Eagles will face off against the Henderson Silver Knights for the first game of round one of the Calder Cup playoffs at the Budweiser Events Center tonight at 7:05 pm MST.

The last time the two teams went head to head was back in February on home ice for the Eagles with each team taking home a win. The Silver Knights would take the first win of the series when Henderson forward Paul Cotter scored the game-winning goal midway through the second period, while goaltender Dylan Ferguson turned aside 35 of the 37 shots he faced. The Silver Knights defeated the Colorado Eagles, 3-2. 

In the second game in the series, Colorado scored five goals in the third period to rally back from a 2-1 deficit and defeat the Henderson Silver Knights, 6-3. Eagles forward Kiefer Sherwood led the way with two goals and an assist, while defenseman Andreas Englund notched a ‘Gordie Howe Hat Trick’ with a goal, an assist and a fight. Goaltender, Hunter Miska, earned the win in net, making 28 saves on 31 shots.

Henderson Silver Knigths recently signed forwards Brendan Brisson and Connor Ford to tryout agreements.

The Colorado Eagles have a 39-22-4-3 record for the season, sitting as the 3rd seed in the Pacific Division. The Eagles finished the regular season with a 3-3-0-2 record against the Silver Knights. 


Henderson finished the regular season with a 35-28-4-1 record, currently the 6th seed in the Pacific Division.


Colorado - Henderson Connections

Henderson defenseman Brandon Hockey has played with both Shane Bowers and Dalton Smith at Boston University and with the Rochester Americans respectively. 
Eagles forward Dylan Sikura spent last season with the Henderson Silver Knights before signing with Colorado.
