Forward Ondrej Pavel Joins Eagles on PTO

WINDSOR, CO. – The Colorado Eagles, proud AHL affiliate of the Colorado Avalanche, have announced that the team has signed forward Ondrej Pavel to a professional tryout agreement. Pavel was signed by the Avalanche to a two-year, entry-level contract for the 2023-24 and 2024-25 seasons on March 30th and will now join the Eagles on a PTO for the remainder of the 2022-23 campaign.

 

Pavel spent three seasons at Minnesota State University, where he generated 18 goals and 23 assists in 94 career contests. The 6-foot-2, 204-pound center tallied career-highs in points (22), goals (12) and assists (10) and finished with a +19 plus/minus rating as a sophomore in 2021-22, appearing in all 44 games to help the Mavericks capture the CCHA championship. Pavel helped Minnesota State to the WCHA regular-season title in 2020-21 recording four points in 11 outings.

 

Prior to making the jump to the college game, Pavel skated in 98 career USHL games with the Fargo Force, notching 15 goals and 18 assists. He was named team captain during the 2020-21 season, recording 20 points in 40 contests, and adding two goals in two playoff appearances.

 

The Prague, Czech Republic, native also represented his country at the 2020 IIHF World Junior Championship, appearing in five games.

 

The Eagles will be back in action when they travel to take on the Bakersfield Condors on Wednesday, April 5th at 7:30pm MT at Mechanics Bank Arena in Bakersfield, California.
