Miner’s 27-Save Shutout Drives Eagles to 3-0 Win over Charlotte

Oct 28, 2026

LOVELAND, CO. – Colorado goalie Trent Miner earned his first shutout of the season, stopping all 27 shots he faced, while forwards Jayson Megna, Adam Beckman and Matt DiMarsico each found the back of the net, as the Eagles defeated the Charlotte Checkers 3-0 on Wednesday. Colorado’s power play finished a perfect 4-for-4 in the winning effort.

The first period would see Charlotte fail to convert on the lone power play of the opening frame, outshooting the Eagles by a count of 11-7, but the two teams would head to the intermission with the game still scoreless.

A delayed penalty late in the second period would allow Megna to camp out on top of the crease, before tracking down a rebound and backhanding it into the net. The goal was Megna’s third tally in his first four games and gave the Eagles a 1-0 advantage with 4:49 remaining in the middle frame.

A wrist shot from the slot from Beckman would elude goaltender Kirill Gerasimyuk, pushing Colorado’s lead to 2-0 just 1:32 into the third period.

DiMarsico would then add his name to the scoresheet when he roofed a shot from the low slot, putting the Eagles on top 3-0 with 12:26 remaining in the contest.

Gerasimyuk suffered the loss in net, allowing three goals on 29 shots. The Checkers successfully killed off all six of Colorado’s opportunities on the man-advantage.

The Eagles will be back in action when they travel to take on the San Diego Gulls on Sunday, November 1st at 6:00pm MT at Pechanga Arena in San Diego, California. Tickets for all Colorado Eagles home games are on sale now and can be purchased at ColoradoEagles.com
