Nabokov’s 32-Save Shutout Lifts Eagles to 2-0 Win at Tucson

Oct 4, 2026

WINDSOR, CO. – Colorado goaltender Ilya Nabokov stopped all 32 shots he faced in his AHL debut, while forwards Nikita Prishchepov and Jake Wise each provided a goal, as the Eagles opened the 2026-27 regular season with a 2-0 victory over the Tucson Roadrunners on Saturday. Defenseman Gustav Stjernberg and forward Yanick Turcotte each collected an assist in the winning effort.

The first period saw each team go 0-for-1 on the power play, as Nabokov made 11 saves, and the Eagles and Roadrunners left for the first intermission with the game still scoreless.

A turnover at center ice would spring Prishchepov on a breakaway, which he would cap off by chipping a shot past goalie Michael Hrabal, giving Colorado a 1-0 edge at the 9:20 mark of the second period.

The Eagles would strike again just 2:56 later, as Wise camped out on top of the crease before deflecting a shot from the point into the back of the net, doubling Colorado’s advantage to 2-0.

Nabokov would continue to shine in the third period, adding 11 more stops in the final frame, as the Eagles held on for the 2-0 win.

Colorado finished the night going 0-for-4 on the power play and a perfect 3-for-3 on the penalty kill. Hrabal suffered the loss in net, allowing two goals on 20 shots.

The Eagles will be back in action when they take on the Tucson Roadrunners on Sunday, October 4th at 5:00pm MT at Tucson Arena in Tucson, Arizona.
