The Colorado Avalanche's 2019 NHL Draft class will be well-represented on the club's roster for the 2019 Anaheim Rookie Faceoff.

Colorado announced on Thursday its 28-man roster for the squad at this year's rookie tournament, which includes five players that the team selected at this past summer's draft. Avs 2019 draft picks Bowen Byram (No. 4 overall), Alex Beaucage (No. 78), Sasha Mutala (No. 140), Luka Burzan (No. 171) and Trent Miner (No. 202) will all be donning Colorado sweaters at the Anaheim Ducks-hosted showcase.

Members of the 2019 draft class will join eight other players that the club has selected at the previous three drafts, as Colorado's lineup for this year's rookie tournament is made up of team rookies and prospects, amateur tryouts and players on American Hockey League contracts. Other recent Avs draftees and prospects are unable to attend due to NCAA eligibility or prior commitments with their European clubs.

The Avalanche rookies will play three exhibition games over the course of four days, Sept. 7-10, at Great Park Ice in Irvine, California. The Ducks, Arizona Coyotes, Los Angeles Kings, San Jose Sharks and Vegas Golden Knights are all sending top prospects to the annual showcase. Click here for more information and tickets for the Anaheim Rookie Faceoff.

Colorado opens the Anaheim Rookie Faceoff versus the Golden Knights on Saturday, Sept. 7 at 2 p.m. MT and then plays the Kings on Sunday, Sept. 8 at 2 p.m. MT. The Avs close the exhibition on Tuesday, Sept. 12 with a 12 p.m. MT game against the Coyotes.

The Avs' roster for the rookie faceoff will be similar to the one at the team's development camp in June, as 21 of the 28 players that participated in the summer prospect camp will also compete in Southern California next month.

Eleven players on Colorado's 2019 roster were also on the team's 2018 squad in Vegas and four players also took part in the 2017 tournament in San Jose. Forward Travis Barron and defenseman Josh Anderson return to the Avalanche's lineup for a fourth straight year; they are the only two Colorado players to have played in every rookie showcase since the Avs hosted the inaugural event in 2016.

Forward Logan O'Connor is the only player on the roster that has NHL experience, suiting up in five games with the Avalanche last season. Overall, 11 Colorado rookies played professional hockey last year in North America or Europe. Anderson, Barron, O'Connor, Shane Bowers, Kevin Davis, Josh Dickinson, Nick Henry, Martin Kaut, Ty Lewis and Igor Shvyrev all played games for the Colorado Eagles (AHL) or Utah Grizzlies (ECHL) in 2018-19, while defenseman Conor Timmins practiced with both the Eagles and Avalanche last season while recovering from a head injury.

Goaltender Adam Werner, a 2016 Avalanche draft pick that signed a two-year, entry-level contract with the team on May 13, has played professionally in Sweden for the past three seasons and suited up in four AHL contests in 2017-18 with the San Antonio Rampage.

Miner, the Avs' seventh round pick this past year, will join Werner as the team's two netminders at the tournament.

Colorado's rookies also have two practices scheduled before veterans report for the NHL training camp on Sept. 12 and on-ice sessions begin the following day. The Avs rookies will practice on Friday, Sept. 6 at 9:30 a.m. MT at Family Sports Center and on Monday, Sept. 9 at 10 a.m. MT at Great Park Ice.
