Season Recap: Andrew Agozzino

May 30, 2019

The 2018-19 season saw Andrew Agozzino post 26 goals and 34 assists, which were each tied for the second-most in the seven-year veteran’s career. The 26 goals, 34 assists and 60 points came in just 56 games and led the Eagles in each category during the club’s inaugural season. In addition, the 28 year-old saw action in 11 NHL games with the Colorado Avalanche. During that time Agozzino would net his first-ever NHL goal with a tally against the Vegas Golden Knights on February 18th, finishing with one goal and one assist in his time with the Avalanche.

The Kleinburg, Ontario native also proved to be a force on the penalty kill, posting seven shorthanded points, which trailed only fellow Eagle Logan O’Connor’s nine shorthanded points for the most in the AHL. His output was hardly limited to the penalty kill, as Agozzino also led the Eagles in power-play goals (8), power-play assists (11) and power-play points (19). His solid play in all three zones was exemplified by finishing first on the team in both plus-minus rating (+12) and game-winning goals (5).
