Away Game Preview: Game 42
Feb 1, 2020
On The Ice
HOME STRETCH-
Making a mark in the first 40 minutes will be especially important this weekend, as this match-up features two teams with impeccable records when holding a lead after two periods of play. Tucson is a perfect 20-0-0-0 when heading into the third period with an advantage on the scoreboard, while Colorado is 19-0-1-0 when in a similar position of strength.
FIRST BLOOD-
Colorado has netted the game’s first goal in 27 games this season, which is tied for the most in the American Hockey League. Those 27 goals have come in 41 games, meaning that the Eagles earn the first tally on the board in 66% of their games. Colorado has amassed a record of 21-4-2-0 when jumping out to a 1-0 lead. The Roadrunners have also been dangerous this year when gaining the game’s first lead, going 17-3-1-0 when scoring first.
HELPING HAND-
Forward T.J. Tynan skated in the 2020 AHL All-Star Classic in Ontario on Monday, as he leads the Eagles with 33 points and 29 assists. Tynan is currently fifth in the AHL in assists and is on pace to challenge the league-leading 59 assists that he dished out last season while skating with the Chicago Wolves. The sixth-year pro has registered points in six of his last seven games and leads Colorado with 11 multi-point performances this season.
