Eagles Erupt for Season-High Six Goals in 6-4 Win over Calgary
Nov 7, 2026
LOVELAND, CO. – Colorado forwards Gavin Brindley and Tristen Nielsen each posted three points, while fellow forward Adam Beckman netted a pair of goals, as the Eagles defeated the Calgary Wranglers 6-4 on Saturday. Trent Miner earned the win in net, making 27 saves on 31 shots. Colorado utilized a three-goal first period to help lift them to the win.
The Eagles would enjoy a quick start, as Beckman stuffed home a loose puck in the crease, putting Colorado on top 1-0 just 22 seconds into the contest.
A 3-on-1 rush would then set up defenseman Alex Gagne to light the lamp with a shot from the slot, extending the Eagles advantage to 2-0 at the 11:10 mark of the first period.
Beckman would strike again, as another net-front battle would see Beckman feed a rebound at the top of the crease past goalie Arsenii Sergeev, giving Colorado a 3-0 lead with 7:56 remaining in the opening frame. The goal also spelled the end of the night for Sergeev, as he would give way to Kirill Zarubin for the duration.
The period would then be capped off with a fight, as Eagles forward Cooper Gay dropped the gloves with Calgary defenseman Axel Hurtig at the 17:02 mark.
Colorado would start the second period with a bang as a power play allowed Brindley to slice through the low slot before redirecting a centering feed into the back of the net, pushing the advantage to 4-0 just 17 seconds into the middle frame.
The tables would begin to turn when Calgary took advantage of a delayed penalty against the Eagles, as forward Tyson Gross stuffed a rebound in the crease past Miner, trimming the deficit to 4-1 at the 7:05 mark of the second stanza.
The Wranglers would build on the momentum just 1:45 later when forward Dryden Hunt lit the lamp with a wrister from the slot, cutting Colorado’s advantage to 4-2.
Another loose puck in the crease would lead to another Calgary goal, as forward Rory Kerins slid the puck across the goal line, making it a 4-3 game at the 16:12 mark of the period.
The Eagles would add a little insurance when forward Nikita Prishchepov followed up his shot and tucked home a rebound in the crease, extending the Colorado lead to 5-3 just 2:33 into the third period.
Again, Calgary would crawl closer, as a power play allowed Gross to set up in front of the net before tipping a shot from the circle past Miner, cutting the deficit to 5-4 with 6:41 still left to play.
The Wranglers would come up dry on a late power play and pulled Zarubin in favor of the extra attacker, but it would be Brindley who would capitalize with an empty-netter to round out the 6-4 score at the 19:44 mark of the final frame.
Zarubin suffered the loss in goal, allowing two goals on 18 shots. The Eagles finished the night going 1-for-3 on the power play and 1-for-2 on the penalty kill.
